  • Welcome to the World of Jewish Mysticism

    Join Rabbi Sandy Seltzer on a journey through the Book of Splendor, the Crown Jewel of Jewish Mysticism - the Zohar. The Zohar explores everything from the structure of the Universe to the particulars of palm reading. Through his engaging teaching style, Rabbi Seltzer shares his deep knowledge and curiosity about Jewish tradition, mysticism, philosophy, and literature as we move through this intricate commentary and guide to all things big and small.

    In this exploration of Jewish mysticism, we use the Pritzker edition of the Zohar, an English translation. No prior knowledge is necessary. This course will be taught on Zoom only, beginning on September 12 and ending on April 17.

    Registration Fees:

    Members: $143 per semester, $245 for the full year

    Non-members: $153 per semester, $275 for the full year

  • Intro to Judaism

    Explore Jewish life, values, celebrations, history, theology, and spirituality. Ask questions, discover multiple answers, and find out how Reform Judaism could be meaningful to you. This course is open to all – interfaith couples, those raising Jewish children, individuals considering conversion, and anyone who just wants to learn more about Judaism!

    Sharon Glassberg will be your instructor. Sharon Glassberg is a Clinical Therapist at Jewish Family & Children’s Services, working with Tucson’s community of Holocaust Survivors. Previously she served as the Director of Jewish Education/VP for Programming & Organizational Development at the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona, currently JPSA. Sharon directed Tucson Hebrew High and other Jewish teen engagement programs, ran community adult education programs including the Jewish Culture Shuk and the Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning, initiated and oversaw PJ Library and its yearly awards and scholarship programs.

    Classes will be held at Kol Ami with an option for Zoom. Classes are usually held every other Sunday at 10 am starting on August 27 and continuing through April.

  • Intermediate Prayerbook Hebrew

    Join Cantor Janece Cohen as we progress from basic Hebrew reading to learning prayerbook Hebrew and basic liturgy with an eye toward deepening students' familiarity with the prayerbook and preparing for B'nei Mitzvah.

    Whether you are a beginner, are learning, need a refresher, or are looking to join the Yad Squad - join us for this class exploring the art of chanting Torah using cantillation signs and trope, taught by our expert chanter and Erev Cantor, Sarah Bollt.
