About Our Funds

Kol Ami General Fund

The Kol Ami General Fund is our annual fundraising campaign and Kol Ami’s main source of operating support beyond membership dues and tuition. Gifts to the fund enable us to continue responding with innovation to our community’s needs. Only through our members' generosity can we achieve our mission, hire talented staff, provide our members with world-class music, and uphold the highest standards of learning and worship to transform the way people experience Jewish life.

Religious School

Giving to the Religious School helps fund the scholarship program and further the school's mission.

Jewish Lifelong Learning

Giving to the JLL helps to create premier programming for our members and those in the community wanting to learn more about Jewish life and customs.

Early Childhood Education

Help the ECE maintain its beautiful building, create more learning experiences for the children, and supply them with needed educational tools.

7th Grade Youth Philanthropy Fund

This fund helps the 7th graders give back to projects and people in need.

Youth Group Programming

Help our youth group create engaging programs and experiences so they can continue to help grow in their faith and community.

Mitzvah Corp

This qualifying charitable organization provides services to Arizona residents needing temporary or emergency assistance. It is at the core of our religious tradition to assist the most vulnerable members of our community. The amount you contribute is subtracted from taxes you owe the State of Arizona. The amount contributed must be, at most, your overall Arizona tax liability, or the excess will be carried forward for up to five years. This fund moves through Kol Ami to the Mitzvah Corp but is separate from Kol Ami.

Clergy Discretionary Fund

This fund provides resources for the clergy to help those in need and supplement the synagogue's programming and activities. There is an option to give to Rabbi Cohen or Cantor Janece Cohen’s fund.

Oneg Fund

Our oneg is a meaningful weekly celebration, and we are incredibly grateful to those who choose to donate for all of us to enjoy.

Kol Ami Cares

The Kol Ami Cares Committee makes sure all of our members who are ill or in need of company receive it. They also make meals of condolence after a loved one’s death.

Dr. Bernard Dickstein Memorial Endowment

Used for the general support of Kol Ami.

Rabbi Bilgray Lecture Endowment

The Bilgray Lectureship is a joint project co-sponsored by Kol Ami and the University of Arizona. In cooperation with the University's Program of Judaic Studies, it brings to Tucson distinguished authorities in the realm of Judaic Studies.

Rabbi Albert T. Bilgray served as the rabbi of Temple Emanu-El from 1947-1972 and as emeritus rabbi thereafter. The Lectureship seeks to perpetuate the rabbinic and scholarly emphases of Rabbi Bilgray's career through a popular presentation on Jewish life and literature and through an academic, scholarly approach.
