• All the Hebrew letters and vowels,
• Basic rules of reading so that you can begin to decipher Hebrew words,
• And 180 common Hebrew words.
Taught by Marjorie Hochberg, Cantorial Soloist Emerita, the Marathon is a lively and enjoyable class designed for complete beginners. It’s also a useful refresher for those whose Hebrew reading skills are out of practice. And it’s the place to start for all Hebrew classes.

Tuesdays at 7:00 pmLearn reading and comprehension skills for Jewish participation, prayer, and vocabulary. This class is a natural follow-up for anyone who has taken Hebrew Marathon or has a basic knowledge of the Hebrew alphabet, vowels, and pronunciation.

Tuesdays at 6:30 pmElul is Aramaic for SEARCHING. It's a wake up call that depends on you to set the time. This is a season where there are opportunities to spirituality re-connect, to be inspired, to become more fulfilled and in tune with our true inner selves. It is the reservoir from which we draw our strength and inspiration throughout the year ahead.
Each session will include a 30 minute discussion about the current week's study and a 30 minute introduction to the next week. Following each session, we will have an optional 30 minutes for questions and to share your thoughts for further discussion.

Workbook: In addition, for each session you will receive printable handouts of both journaling and coloring pages designed by Lynn Rae Lowe to enhance your personal learning and experience during Elul.

A Conversation With Paul Gross
Rabbi Malcolm will be in conversation with Paul Gross about the situation on the ground in Israel. Paul lives in Jerusalem and has written on the Middle East and the Jewish world for a number of Israeli, British and American titles.
Before immigrating to Israel from the UK he worked for the British government on religious discrimination legislation and for the Israeli Embassy in London as the Ambassador’s speechwriter.

A Talmud class at Kol Ami has attracted people from all over Tucson and many winter visitors from around the country.
Those attending are neither Torah nor Talmud scholars but are Jews who find the Talmud topics, discussion, logic interesting to consider and discuss. While few, if any, conclusions are ever reached, the process of discussion is fascinating!
We’d love to have you join us online (Zoom) on Tuesdays from 10:00-11:30 throughout the year. Once you are signed up, you will receive the necessary course information.

Thursdays at 11:45 amJoin Rabbi Sandy Seltzer on a journey through the Book of Splendor, the Crown Jewel of Jewish Mysticism - the Zohar. The Zohar explores everything from the structure of the Universe to the particulars of palm reading.
Through his engaging teaching style, Rabbi Seltzer shares his deep knowledge and curiosity about Jewish tradition, mysticism, philosophy, and literature as we move through this intricate commentary and guide to all things big and small.
In this exploration of Jewish mysticism, we use the Pritzker edition of the Zohar, an English translation. No prior knowledge is necessary.

Kol Ami Synagogue has partnered with Project Zug to offer havruta (paired) style online learning. This collaboration encourages meaningful connections and in-depth exploration of Jewish wisdom, regardless of participants' levels of knowledge.
By pairing members of the Kol Ami community for guided study sessions, this fosters a culture of collaborative learning, promoting lively engagement and discussion.

Kol Ami is pleased to announce an exciting new resource for our congregants; we are launching an ebook library at no extra cost for our members.
In our eLibrary you will find assorted ebooks that would be available for check out. Just like any library, you will borrow the eBook for a limited time (7, 14 or 21 days depending on the terms of each book) using various devices such as computers, Kindles, tablets, and phones.
If you are already a member of the Pima County Library and have borrowed and read ebooks from their collections, you already have a good idea of how this works. We will be using the OverDrive Platform the same one that is used by PCL.
