For many of us, the High Holy Days are a time for quiet reflection—on the year that was, the year ahead, our lives, our families, and our community.

In this season of introspection, we invite you to include Kol Ami Synagogue in your thoughts: What does Kol Ami mean to you? How do you connect most deeply to the work we do and the community we create?

We live in a time of uncertainty, in a world that isn’t always kind. The weight of social, political, and economic challenges can sometimes feel like a lot to carry. When it starts to feel like too much, there is comfort in knowing that the Kol Ami community is here.

Families at our Strauss Early Childhood Education Center who recently faced a difficult situation when scholarship funding for their tuition was suddenly withdrawn could not see a way to continue sending their children to our preschool.

When the Kol Ami community learned about the challenges facing our families, you responded without hesitation.

“Because of your support,” one mother wrote, “I have been able to continue working full-time and have the peace of mind knowing my daughter is well cared for. We can never thank you enough for how much your incredible generosity has impacted the well-being of my child and the quality of our life.”

That same sense of community can be found throughout Kol Ami.

One of our members recently shared how important it has been to him: “Less than 48 hours after I had joined as a new member, Rabbi Malcolm reached out to me to find a time when he could meet me for a visit with my wife, now living in memory care. We’ve done this together several times since then. While Rabbi and I haven’t yet shared a pint over a ‘Football’ game, I’m glad to have a connection with a thoughtful, kind, and supportive individual. A real mensch.”

Kol Ami is more than a place where we meet to pray and learn. It is where community happens, and your generosity helps make that possible.
