-
With over 20 years of experience in Jewish communal work, Shannon is passionate about building meaningful relationships and creating a welcoming community of belonging. Having celebrated both her Bat Mitzvah and wedding in the Kol Ami Rubin Family Sanctuary, she is thrilled to work in a place so close to her heart.
Shannon loves meeting newcomers to Tucson, engaging with Kol Ami members, and welcoming anyone interested in learning more about the Kol Ami community. To connect with our joyful and vibrant synagogue, reach out to Shannon at membership@katucson.org to schedule a time to chat.
In her role as Membership and Engagement Director Shannon helps to:
- Connect with prospective members through outreach, events, and one-on-one conversations, making sure everyone feels at home from the very beginning.
- Ensures every member feels seen and supported by maintaining regular communication and helping each person stay connected through experiences that match their interests and passions.
- Creates and supports opportunities that bring people together — from intimate new member gatherings to community-wide celebrations that strengthen relationships and deepen connections.
- Partners with clergy, staff, and volunteers, to ensure that members feel engaged and supported in every aspect of synagogue life.
Shannon is a graduate of the University of Arizona receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Eller College of Management. Prior to working at Kol Ami, Shannon served as the Director of Operations at a synagogue in Portland, Oregon, where she made a lasting impact.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys being the mom of two active teenage boys, traveling to new places, and playing clarinet in a local amateur band.
